Newcastle Strings is an exciting organisation led by esteemed musician, conductor, composer and violinist/violist David Banney. Our mission is to inspire, encourage and develop young string players in the Hunter area through various integrated and multifaceted initiatives. We believe that music education is enriched by the sense of community and strong friendships that are formed in ensemble playing.
Every Monday afternoon, we provide a space that celebrates music through creativity, participation and learning. We inspire our community by providing quality group music education, community collaborations and performance opportunities for all our young musicians.
